Modern Imaging Services
Our Vascular Lab has been an integral part of CVSA since its inception in 1989. It was the first lab in Fairfield County to earn the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) accreditation. We maintain fully accredited labs in our Fairfield, CT and Shelton, CT offices.
We provide a full array of non-invasive vascular imaging, including carotid, aortic and peripheral arterial duplex, venous US for assessment of DVT and venous insufficiency, and PVR testing for peripheral arterial disease. In addition, we offer digital artery analysis (photoplethysmography) for patients with suspected Raynaud’s Syndrome.
Our vascular surgeons use imaging to assist patients with spider vein treatment and varicose vein treatment, as well as many other conditions. To prepare for your testing, you should not eat or drink for six to eight hours beforehand if the imaging will take place in the abdomen. No preparation is needed, however, for imaging of the arms, legs, or neck, you will be asked to remove any jewelry. Expect the testing to last between 15 minutes and one hour.
We readily accommodate urgent requests, particularly patients in whom DVT is suspected. These patients are cared for expeditiously, with prompt communication with the ordering provider, and consultation with a vascular surgeon if desired.
